Last year we have Big Bank Bailout and this year we have the Oil Spill which resulted from overlobbying. Does Plutocracy get even better than that?
Today most western countries aren't even ran by a political party which has the majority of votes from its citizens.They are ran by a political party which represents the interests of big corporations. The CEO's use money to bribe the politicians (who are supposed to represent its citizen's general interest) in order to ensure that they represent the big companies. What's the effect of this? Let's take a look.
The big bank bailouts was a very interesting idea. It was supposed to stop the big banks from collapsing in order to prevent investor's confidence from plunging into a new low (Like the Great Depression in the 1930's ). But where did the most of the money go? You've guessed it. They went into the CEO's big fat pocket in the name of "bonuses". Wasting your tax money like that is annoying m doesn't it? But How did all the money ended up flowing to their hand? All goes back to Plutocracy. The big banks called their lobbyists and ask them to give money to the politicians and told them " We can manage the way we use all that money. You and your friends (fellow citizens) don't have to bother about it." Guess what? The politicians happily grabbed the money and kept their mouths shut. They have totally failed their "target" of catering the general interest of their citizens. They just wanted the money. it seems like the world is even becoming more of a plutocracy instead of democracy. Doesn't it?
